In case you are wondering how I started typing ‘blind’, and at a relatively high speed, and with a relatively high accuracy, without straining my hands (as you can hear by the sonata of sharp keystroke sounds in this stream), you can thank my husband James Stone who convinced me to switch from QWERTY to DVORAK keyboard. I dedicated one summer during my undergrad to that. The result was that I learned to type blind, fast, and accurately, and the strain on the wrists is low.
James proposed later alternative / better choices as well, but I stopped there. Maybe in the future.

Today I am happy that I had a moment to sit down and do some coding, or work towards my github project.
I recorded it on the LIVE stream on YouTube (mostly to make it transparent).
I managed to write up a short script, for a simplified version of the program.
I decided to write up one comment into one video, as a starting step.
I know how to write a comment, i.e. create a string variable in python (And I am using Jupyter notebook/Anaconda environment).
I am not sure how to link it to a YouTube video comments section yet!
It appears I need to use some sort of concept in programming, called “API”.
A quick look through did not provide an example to follow, based on my knowledge, so I have to do some studying.
The tutorials I found (the first 20 in google search or so), are extensive information and not a clear/beginner tutorial at all, so I have to do some digging, some diving, some time-consuming task of extracting the info I need from there. I hope to write up a short tutorial / and a short example at the end, if I manage to understand myself. Fingers crossed. (My thinking is, to boil a potato, I don’t need to know every single thing about potato’s inner structure and every single recipe it could be used in, but the API links I found in my initial search provide such depths, unfiltered, even if I use keywords basic or tutorial….) Of course, you can use ChatGPT or a similar AI, but I am trying to understand myself first a bit, before going there. We’ll see, mayb I will have to use it.

Jupyter Notebooks – added to Github
One voice in particular is ringing in my ears – ‘You need 7 years of advanced math to work on coding projects!’, he said, or something like that, while staring strangely at my pregnant belly. I hope this ringing will go away. I remind myself that I can do it. It’s okay to make mistakes. You can do it! Remember, Maria, You took an advanced Physics course as a Biology student without any of the previous prerequisites on Atomic Physics, the final class in the hardest series of Physics courses, and you scored on the final with a better grade than anyone else – most of them physics majors and most of them men. You can do hard things, including this project. Am I boasting? So what? Lord, please help me overcome this learning curve with API. In Jesus name, Amen. Let’s have some fun. I am grateful to have the opportunity to dabble with coding now. The Rest is in God’s hands.
